Gmail integration: send and import client emails with your own Gmail account
Until now, email integration in Mercury Nexus only worked with Office 365. If your business runs on Gmail or Google Workspace, emails you sent from Mercury Nexus didn’t come from your own address or show up in your Sent folder, and you had to forward client emails in by hand to keep the file complete.
What’s changed
You can now link your Gmail account to Mercury Nexus and choose what it’s used for:
- Send from your own address: emails you send from Mercury Nexus go from your Gmail address and appear in your Gmail Sent folder.
- Import into the file: browse and search your Gmail inside Mercury Nexus. You can import emails and their attachments to an opportunity or person record, either from Your Gmail or from inside an opportunity. Each imported email becomes a note, and DocIQ classifies the attachments. Importing is manual, so nothing is pulled in automatically.
- Let your PA send as you: give colleagues access to send emails through your linked Gmail.
- Know when the link breaks: if Google access stops working, Mercury Nexus tells you, and you can re-link in a couple of clicks.
Why it matters
Clients get emails from the address they already know, and your Sent folder keeps a full record. The client file holds the emails that matter without any forwarding. Google users now get the same email workflow Office 365 users already have.
What you need to do
Nothing is switched on automatically. Each broker links their own account.
- Go to: Admin > Integration > Gmail and select Link Gmail Account.
- Under Features, tick send, import or both.
- To send, you’ll need an email profile that uses your Gmail address. You can set one up under My Details > Email Profiles.
If you use Google Workspace, your Workspace administrator must allow third-party apps to access your account.
