The borrowing capacity calculator is a powerful tool to help you easily calculate how much your client can afford to borrow and which lenders will service them.
We've created some simple guides in the Connective Wiki to help you make the most of the Borrowing Capacity Calculator, including:
As part of our commitment to continually improving Mercury Nexus we will be undertaking planned maintenance this Thursday (August 25) night.
From 8:30pm – 10:00pm the following services will be unavailable:
Please note. Any email or SMS messages you attempt to send during this period, will queue and automatically send after the maintenance has completed.
We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
You can now edit the Loan Requested field in the Borrowing Capacity Calculator which adjusts the LVR field. There’s also a new field in the borrowing capacity calculator – Total Security.
This field shows a total dollar amount of assets used as security. If you have one security, this field is editable and if you have multiple securities, the total security value will appear in this field for you. To add an asset to the total security amount, tick the ‘Use as Security’ field.
We’ve also removed a step in the calculation process. If you tick ‘Use as security’ for an asset, the clearing field will automatically be ticked and hidden from view as the calculator assumes assets that will be used as securities will automatically be refinanced as part of the application.
You’ll also enjoy the updates we have made to the calculator layout – including a larger area to show the lender information and clearer servicing statuses.
You can learn more about these new Borrowing Capacity Calculator features in the Connective Wiki.
You can now override the product rate to change the assessment rates within the Borrowing Capacity Calculator. This update allows you to ensure your clients match the lender criteria within a certain rate.
To change the product rate:
Want to go back to the original lender rates? Click on Revert Rate Overrides and all the rates will convert back.
Great news - we've released another two lenders into our Nexus Servicing Engine.
Our Connective Select and Suncorp lender-specific calculators are now live in Mercury Nexus. As well as greater accuracy, you can now access the DTI and policy and servicing status at a glance. Learn more here.
Connective Select and Suncorp joins ANZ, AMP, ING, Connective Essentials, Bank of Melbourne, CBA, Westpac, NAB, Macquarie, Bankwest and St George Bank. We will continue to update you as more lenders become available.
Adding a banner image to your emails can be a great way to make them stand out. With Mercury Nexus you can easily customise email images and templates to suit your business.
1. Navigate to Admin from the Mercury Dashboard.
2. On the left hand menu, select CRM settings and click on Email Templates.
3. Click on the + to add a new template, or click on an existing template to edit
4. Click on More Rich
5. Click on the Image Icon
6. Search for any image you would like to use - this could be from a Google image search, your website etc.
7. Right click on the image, and click on Copy Image Address.
If you would like to use your own images, you can upload your images to an image hosting platform and then repeat the same process above. Some Image Hosting platforms we recommend are:

Did you know you can export your CPD register in Mercury into a easy to manage record sheet?
To create a CPD report:
Duplicate records in your CRM can cause problems with reporting and correspondence. In the CRM, there is an easy report you can download that shows your duplicate records.
To generate the report:
To remove the duplicates, search for each duplicate people record. Select the most relevant people record and delete the other(s).
You can find further information on how to manage duplicate records here, on the Connective Wiki.
Conditional questions allow you to configure follow up questions based on an answer given.
For example, you create a question "Are you a tax resident of a foreign country?" with two responses "Yes" and "No."
You then create the conditional question "please provide your country of tax residency and your citizenship status?" which will only display when "Yes" has been selected.
How do I make a question conditional?
Note. You will need to log out of Mercury Nexus for the change to take effect.
You can learn more about conditional questions here, on our Connective Wiki.
