Storing lender passwords in Mercury
We know many members are using Mercury 5 to store lender passwords. Please note this will feature will not be available in Mercury Nexus and we will be removing it from Mercury 5 on 1 September 2021.
So how are you supposed to remember your strong, unique passwords?
We recommend using a password manager to keep track of your passwords.
A password manager is an online tool that creates unique passwords and auto fills the credentials every time you revisit the site. Password managers also allow you to safely share passwords with team members and clients, with the ability to quickly edit and revoke access as required.
When choosing a password manager you should always:
- Conduct research to ensure the password manager is from a reputable vendor
- Conduct research to ensure the password manager is maintained by the vendor with regular security updates
- Protect the password manager with its own strong and memorable passphrase.
The most popular password managers in Australia include LastPass, Keeper, Dashlane, 1Password and NordPass.
Create Quarterly Commission Statements
From the Commissions App you can quickly create quarterly commissions statements to assist with tax, BAS and other reporting requirements.
Head over to Commissions > Commission Statements and simply drag the columns you want to group into the task bar.
This will create an expandable summary row, including the total for each group.
You can change the grouping, by changing the order you add items to the task bar.
You can also use the filter to eliminate unnecessary data.
Important Update to the Borrowing Capacity Calculations
Based on feedback we received from you, we have made changes to improve the accuracy of servicing estimates in the Borrowing Capacity Calculator.
These changes effect the expense categories "Living Expenses", :"Education" and "Insurance" which have been consolidated into:
- Basic/Standard Living Expenses
- Additional Living Expenses
When you create a calculation from an opportunity, living expenses will be repopulated into the categories "Basic/Standard" and "Additional" Living Expenses.
See the Connective Wiki for more information on Living Expenses.
Please note that existing calculations will not be effected by these changes, though you may consider recreating them to regenerate the living expense categories.

Track Your Clients' Activity With The New Client Centre Activity Tab
We have expanded the Audit Log in the CRM to include all activity across the CRM and Client Centre.
Now when you visit the History tab on your Opportunity, you will see the Client Centre Activity Tab. This shows the times the Client Centre has been accessed for that opportunity, and which individual records and sections were edited in each session.
You can then click on a record to view:
- The name of the record that was updated (e.g. Employment, Identification)
- The name of the person that accessed the Record (e.g. Broker, Client)
- What was updated
- When it was updated
- The Old value and the New value
To make things easier we have also added an Audit History button on each of the following records in your CRM:
- Employment
- Identification
- Living Expenses
- Assets
- Liabilities
- Questionnaires
This button will show you at a glance when the record was last updated, what changed and by whom.
