Storing lender passwords in Mercury
We know many members are using Mercury 5 to store lender passwords. Please note this will feature will not be available in Mercury Nexus and we will be removing it from Mercury 5 on 1 September 2021.
So how are you supposed to remember your strong, unique passwords?
We recommend using a password manager to keep track of your passwords.
A password manager is an online tool that creates unique passwords and auto fills the credentials every time you revisit the site. Password managers also allow you to safely share passwords with team members and clients, with the ability to quickly edit and revoke access as required.
When choosing a password manager you should always:
- Conduct research to ensure the password manager is from a reputable vendor
- Conduct research to ensure the password manager is maintained by the vendor with regular security updates
- Protect the password manager with its own strong and memorable passphrase.
The most popular password managers in Australia include LastPass, Keeper, Dashlane, 1Password and NordPass.
Create Quarterly Commission Statements
From the Commissions App you can quickly create quarterly commissions statements to assist with tax, BAS and other reporting requirements.
Head over to Commissions > Commission Statements and simply drag the columns you want to group into the task bar.
This will create an expandable summary row, including the total for each group.
You can change the grouping, by changing the order you add items to the task bar.
You can also use the filter to eliminate unnecessary data.
No More Extra Line When Starting a New Paragraph
We've fixed the extra line that would be added in emails and notes when you started a new Paragraph so that you can create good looking, easy to read emails and notes.
What's Next for Mercury Nexus
Welcome to your monthly digest on what's currently in development and due to be released over the coming weeks.
CRM/Client Centre Updated Audit Log
new feature
We have been expanding the data captured in the CRM Audit Log to include all Client Centre activity, so you'll be able to stay up to date with who's doing what across your Opportunities.
Loanapp Integration
new feature
We've been working on the integration between Loanapp and Nexus so that you can submit to Loanapp lenders easily from Nexus. This feature will work in much the same way as Mercury 5, just with a simplified workflow.
Grid Column and Preferences
improvement
We've been working to improve the layout of columns across all grids in Nexus, so you don't need to resize, add or shuffle columns around and your preferences will be remembered. A few fixes have already dropped, with more just around the corner.
We'll have plenty more features, fixes and improvements to share with you next month.
Reschedule a Task From the CRM Dashboard
By clicking on the task due date you will launch the date picker where you can easily set a new due date:
Out with the old, in with the new - changes to the weekly release notes
We've moved to a new release schedule. Now when new features, fixes, and improvements are ready we release them, instead of releasing a long list of changes once a week.
This means that the old way of publishing weekly release notes no longer fits. So we'll be letting you know (via Nexus News) as soon as a change is in production and ready for you to use.
The Nexus News Feed is easy to filter, the posts are easier to digest and it's an all-around better way to stay up to date with all things Mercury Nexus.
You can learn more about Nexus News on the Connective Wiki.

This is just the first of many changes as we move towards the full decommissioning of Mercury 5 at the end of the year. Contact your BSM to learn more about this date and how you can prepare for a full transition to Mercury Nexus.
