Client Portal update: Automated client progress status updates

You can now track every client’s progress in real time, without chasing or checking. 

With automated request tracking in the Client Portal, statuses update as clients move through each step. You’ll instantly see who hasn’t started, who’s in progress, and who’s submitted - so you can step in at the right time. Click here to learn more.

Another update — based on your feedback 

We’ve also introduced Client Portal invitation links, so you can simply copy and send requests via email, SMS, or any channel that works for you. Click here to get started.

With the old Client Centre retiring soon, now’s a good time to get started with the Client Portal.

Get more accurate results with the new Borrowing Capacity Calculator

We’ve made an update to the Borrowing Capacity Calculator to help you get more accurate results faster. 

This update focuses on reducing common data entry issues that can impact your calculations - like missing property links, unclear applicant relationships, or incomplete address details. You’ll now be prompted to quickly confirm or fix these before running the calculator.

What this means for you:

Cleaner inputs, fewer surprises, and borrowing capacity results you can trust the first time.

Client Portal update: New access and features

The new Client Portal continues to gain momentum, delivering a 39% uplift in completion rates compared to the former Client Centre.

Need a refresher? Read these Wiki articles to learn how to navigate the updated Client Portal. 

What’s new? 

You can now access the Client Portal directly from its own tab in the left-hand panel of your Opportunity. This gives you one clear, streamlined space to manage client requests from start to finish. 

You can also edit client details, set expiry dates and view submitted client documents all directly within the Client Portal!

You may notice a few additional tabs visible in the Client Portal that aren’t clickable yet. These features are launching soon: 

  • Request Overview – A summary of your client’s request progress
  • Review Returned Docs – Approve or reject client documents directly in the Portal
  • Activity – A clear history of request updates and key actions

Update: Create and manage your scenarios faster with the new Borrowing Capacity Calculator

We’ve added two buttons to the new Borrowing Capacity Calculator experience, making your day-to-day scenario work simpler, faster, and easier to manage.

What’s new?

When you access the calculator outside an opportunity, you can create a new calculator (Add) and access saved calculations (Scenarios) in one place.

  • Add - Start a new calculator instantly. It opens in a new tab, so you can create a new calculation without losing any work on your current calculator.
  • Scenarios - View all your saved calculators in one place. Use the built‑in search and refresh options to quickly find and open any saved calculation.

Update: New Borrowing Capacity Calculator

In case you missed it – we launched the new Borrowing Capacity Calculator last year. Since then, we’ve continued to refine it based on member feedback.

Update: You can now save your borrowing capacity calculations when you access the new calculator outside an opportunity. This means you can explore options during your initial client conversations, keep a record of your work, and move faster when the deal progresses.

How does it work?

  1. Access the calculator via the Mercury Nexus dashboard, CRM dashboard or the Research App.
  2. After completing your calculation, click Save.
  3. Your results will then be stored in the Research App.
  4. When you’re ready, you can attach that saved calculation to an opportunity.

Document requests, shared documents & DigiSign are now live in the Client Portal

You can now manage document requests, shared documents and digital signatures directly in the new Client Portal, completing the end-to-end client journey in one place.

With this update, brokers can:

  • Request documents from clients
  • Share important documents like credit guides and fact sheets
  • Collect digital signatures via DigiSign

Previously, clients completed their personal and financial details in the new Client Portal, then had to move back to the old Client Centre to manage documents and signatures. Now, everything happens in one place - creating a seamless experience.

Open Banking update: New information added to business account statements

Open Banking generated statements and summary (proof of balance) documents for business accounts now include additional information. 

Alongside the business name, the document header now also displays the legal name, authorised agent name, and ABN, improving clarity and enabling faster verification for brokers.

  • You’ll now see the source behind every AI answer, including a direct link to the lender policy document. 
  • Connective AI now supports over 100 lenders on our panel, across residential, commercial and asset finance.

Update: Questionnaires now in the Client Portal

We’ve introduced the next phase of the new Client Portal in Mercury Nexus - continuing our work to simplify how your clients share information and helping you progress applications faster.

In case you missed the initial release, the Client Portal is the updated version of the Client Centre’s data collection experience. Login to our community to learn more.

What’s new?

Questionnaires are now part of the new Client Portal 

You can now include any type of questionnaire as part of the guided Client Portal journey. This allows clients to complete their personal details, financials and the questionnaire responses all within one structured experience.

Client Portal updates – Progress bar and overview page

In case you missed it, we recently launched the new Client Portal in Mercury Nexus and thanks to your feedback, we’re rolling out regular enhancements to make it even better. 

Here’s the latest: 

Progress bar
We’ve added a progress bar so your clients can quickly see where they are in the workflow, what’s completed, and what’s still ahead, and it’s visible at the top of every page.

Overview page 
Your clients can now access a progress overview page from the dropdown menu near their name, showing all the modules in their request.

This page highlights what’s been done, what’s underway, and what’s next. They can jump straight into any module with a single click for a smoother experience.

Additional updates to your client’s experience:

  • We’ve streamlined the personal details module to make it quicker and easier for your clients to complete.
  • Clients who have no records of any properties and mortgages, debts, and support payments and other income, can now skip this module and go straight to the next.
  • Improved helper text added for mandatory assets to make things clearer and reduce confusion.
