Important: The old Client Centre is retiring in Mercury Nexus

The old Client Centre in Mercury Nexus will soon be retired as we transition to the Client Portal - the new standard for collecting client information.

Since launching last year, the new Client Portal has helped our members receive more complete applications upfront - meaning more complete applications and less time following up for missing information.

Any existing old Client Centre requests will remain available in read-only mode after the retirement date.

Make the switch to the Client Portal ahead of the transition.

Watch this quick demo to see how it works or browse our collection of Wiki articles to get started.

Update to Tax File Number (TFN) redaction confirmation emails

As you know, Privacy Legislation requires you to redact Tax File Numbers (TFNs) from client documents that you store.

When you request a Tax File Number (TFN) redaction in Mercury Nexus, the redacted document is saved against the relevant opportunity under ‘attachments’ so you have a secure record on file.

What’s changing?

From today, you’ll no longer receive a copy of the redacted file in your confirmation email once a request is completed. This avoids duplicates and ensures all files are securely stored in Mercury Nexus.

Click here to learn how to redact TFN’s in Mercury Nexus.

Open Banking update: New “Share with Broker” button

It's now easier for your clients to complete the Open Banking process!

You told us that some clients were getting stuck after connecting their bank accounts - not realising they needed to click “I’m done connecting banks” to complete the process. This meant brokers were seeing the Open Banking status as “In Progress” even when clients thought they were done.

NextGen has now made this clearer. Clients will now see a “Share with Broker” button when they’ve finished linking their accounts.

What this means for you:
If a client says they’ve completed Open Banking, but you still see “In Progress”, just remind them to click “Share with Broker”. Once they do, you’ll get access right away.

Here’s a quick look at what the new “Share with Broker” step looks like:
