DocIQ: Document names that match your files

Document naming in DocIQ is designed to help keep files consistent and easy to manage. Based on feedback, improvements have been made to better align with your file naming conventions and administrative workflows.

What’s changed

  • A no-comma name format: Allows client names to appear as Smith John instead of Smith, John
  • Consistent capitalisation: Client names are normalised to a consistent case. This prevents formatting from source documents, such as ALL CAPS names on identity documents, carrying through into file names.
  • A reliable financial-year token: The existing {financialYear} token now consistently renders in the format FY25-26 A new {calendarFinancialYear} token has also been added, rendering as FY26 Variations in messy source formats are handled automatically.
  • Shorter names for SharePoint:To help manage document length, particularly for SharePoint environments, additional naming options have been introduced, including:
    • Abbreviated lender names
    • Client initials
    • First name only
    • Last name only
    • DD/MM/YY date formatting
  • Consistent admin and broker settings: The brokerage-admin configurator now mirrors the options available to brokers., meaning brokerage-wide defaults will behave exactly as expected
  • Editing in Review keeps your settings: When editing information within the DocIQ Review screen, document names will now continue to follow your configured (or inherited) naming preferences rather than reverting to default formatting.

Why it matters

Greater flexibility and consistency when working with automatically generated document names. Whether you're managing files individually or setting naming standards across a brokerage, document names can now be configured to better align with your existing filing conventions while remaining concise and consistent.
